Bio Safety Cabinets

Biological safety cabinets designed to meet diverse applications in the life science, clinical, pharmaceutical and industrial laboratory.

SGM has developed a wide variety of biological safety cabinets designed to meet diverse applications in the life science, clinical, pharmaceutical and industrial laboratory. There are three types of biological safety cabinets.

Class I

Class I biological safety cabinet is an open-front negative pressure cabinet. The exhaust air from the cabinet is filtered by a high-efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filter. The Class I biosafety cabinet will provide personnel and environmental protection, but not product protection.

Class II

The Class II vertical laminar-flow biological cabinet is an open-front, ventilated cabinet. This cabinet provides a HEPA-filtered, recirculated mass airflow within the work space. The exhaust air from the cabinet is also filtered by HEPA filters. Thus, the Class II biosafety cabinet will provide personnel, environment and product protection. While HEPA filters are effective for trapping particulates and infectious agents, these filters will not capture volatile chemicals or gases.

Class III

The Class III cabinet is a totally enclosed ventilated cabinet of gas-tight construction. Operations within the Class III cabinet are conducted through attached rubber gloves. When in use, the Class III cabinet is maintained through negative air pressure of at least 0.5 inches water gauge. Supply air is drawn into the cabinet through HEPA filters. The cabinet exhaust air is filtered by two HEPA filters, installed in series, before discharge outside of the facility. The exhaust fan for the Class III cabinet is generally separate from the exhaust fans of the facility's ventilation system.

Construction

The cabinets are fabricated out of thick board duly sunmica clad. Interior surfaces are epoxy painted for its longer life. The work table is made of heavy gauge S.S. sheet and is fitted with U.V. Germicidal Light, static pressure Manometer, Exhaust System 9suitable for 6 feet duct) and Virus Burn Out Unit. Side panels are made out of thick transparent plexi glass duly framed. The unit is fitted with pre-fillter and HEPA Filter. Air is drawn through pre-filter and is made to pass through highly effective GEPA (High Deficiency Particular Air) filters having efficiency retaining all airwomen particles of size 0.3 micron and larger. Using a dynamic balancing machine, the blower and motor assembly is statically and dynamically balance. Motor of 1/4 H.P. capacity operates with minimum noise level.

Illumination

The working is illuminated by fluorescent lighting fitted to the unit. The height of the working table provides a comfortable "SIT DOWN" working position for the operator. Bio-safe cabinets have arrangements for re-circulating a part of the air thus creating highest level of clean air, The unit is also convertible to the conventional vertical flow Bench with downward air flow by lifting the sliding front door upwards. Air is sucked through the pre -filter and the excess air is thrown out from the top, through a HEPA filter.

Fume Hoods

Fume Hood is a ventilated enclosure designed to contain and exhaust fumes, vapors, mists and particulate matter generated within the hood interior.

SGM Laboratory Fume Hood is a ventilated enclosure designed to contain and exhaust fumes, vapors, mists and particulate matter generated within the hood interior. Fume hood structures are basically boxlike, with an open side (or sides) for access to the interior of the hood. A transparent, movable panel, called a sash, allows the user to restrict or enlarge the hood opening. The hood is connected, via ductwork, to an exhaust fan, usually located on the roof of the building in which the hood is located. The exhaust fan draws air from the room in which the hood is in through the hood opening and out through the ductwork. The speed of the air moving through the hood opening is known as face velocity. Sigma Fume hoods are manufactured from best quality Wooden /C.R.C.A/S.S./ Sheets of 18/20G which duly provides better protection from acid fumes in the lab. Sigma fume hoods are aerodynamically designed considering most efficient airflow to the suction. Double wall feature provides easy access to utilities like Water, gas, vacuum & electricity. Detachable base storage cabinets are provided with castors for easy maintenance, Sigma offers variety of lining & work surfaces like Granite, ceramic, S.S., P. P. & FRP. Modular Clean Room

Modular Clean Room

SGM Clean room system combines the need for a flexible solution with the request for durability and flush surfaces. It offers an economical approach to your cleanroom needs. A cleanroom requires a higher standard of construction than many other buildings. Construction materials used to build cleanrooms differ from those used in non-cleanroom construction due to the following reasons:

1. A clean room should be built as an airtight structure.

2. The internal surface finish should be smooth and suitable for cleaning.

3. The internal surface finish should be sufficiently tough to resist any scratch, indentations, chipping or powdering when impacted or abraded.

The materials that are used for the construction of cleanrooms should be smooth on the surface facing the inside of the cleanroom. There should not be any pores, roughness, waviness etc. that will retain contaminants. The surface should be free from ledges and easily wiped free of any contaminants that are deposited. Modular Cleanrooms is a Master Distributor of Envirco Corp. and is the largest stocking cleanroom supplier in the central U.S. with a large inventory of Mac 10 Fan Powered HEPA Filters, Cleanroom Light Fixtures, Ceiling Grid, Tiles and Vinyl Curtains.
